MSB Juveniles are triumphant at Day 2 & 3 of the National Juvenile Championships!

Day 2 & 3 of the National Juvenile Championships saw MSB walk away with no less than 9 National individual Medals including 3 National Champion titles, three 4th places and plenty of PBs and proud performances to boot.


Our athletes qualified for a wide variety of track and field events at the nationals including 60m & 200m sprints, 600m/800m/1500m, race walking, 60m hurdles, shot put, high jump and triple jump.


National medals were won across 60m, 200m , race walking, high jump , 1500m and 60m 👏


Congratulations to all of our juveniles who qualified and gave their best efforts over the weekend. National Championships host competitions to the most talented and accomplished kids all over Ireland and it's a huge achievement to make it to the start line. Coaches , parents and club mates are all extremely proud of your achievements.


Performance Round up :


U17

🥈 Silver Medal for Leia Ryan with an outstanding performance in her 1500m with a PB of 4.43.01 and improves her own U17 girls indoor record for this distance.


🥉 Shared Bronze Medal for Chidinma Adakaibe who ran a superb 7.93 PB in a dead 60m heat with Galway City Harriers Angela Cielecke. Both girls crossed the line at exactly the same time resulting in a bronze medal for both girls! Chidinma improves her own 60m U17 girls record with this superb time and remains in second place for club overall ladies record.


Ange Makembe qualified for the 60m final and ran a fantastic PB of 7.28 in the heats and also made the 200m final and came 6th. Ange holds the U17 boys club record for both the 60m and the 200m sprints. Chidinma Adakaibe ran a huge PB in the heats with 26.25 and also holds the U17 girls club record for 60m and 200m. Daniel Leoca also did himself proud with a PB in the 400m coming in at 55.19 which was an improvement on his Dublin Championships time of 55.33. Mia Coquart made the final of the 60mH and came 5th and achieved a huge PB in her heats of 9.78s. She holds the U17 girls indoor club record for this event. Mia also competed in high jump an reached 1.30m. Leia Ryan ran a very strong 800m heat.



U16

🥇 Gold Medal and national Champion title for Luis Blinco in a blistering time of 23.29, a massive PB improving on his Dublin qualifying time of 24.48 and not too far behind the U16 club record holder Nkem Onwumereh who ran 23.08 in 2019.


Well done also to Mia Brett who made the U16 girls 200m final and came 6th. Alannah Keane and Matthew Keane both ran very solid races in the U16 1500m straight finals. Alannah came in at 5.06.72 and Matthew at 4.36.35 👏 Isla O'Dwyer and Matthew Keane also ran a strong 800m. Neala McPartland competed in the triple jump and came 6th with 8.83m.


U15

🥇 Gold Medal for Ryan McDevitt in the 1k walks! Ryan retained his Championship title with another superb race in a time of 4.27.28, improving on his Dublin Championships time of 4.51.52 👏


Mia Kaczmarek had a sold race in her 1k girls walk coming in 9th place! 👏


U14

🥇 Gold Medal for Harry Atkinson who also retains his National Champion title in the 60m where he ran an incredible PB of 7.75 to also take the U14 boys club record for 60m from Nkem Onwumereh 👏


🥈 Silver Medal for Laoise Gorman in the High Jump for her amazing jumps of 1.53m 👏Laoise not only took home the silver medal but also takes the U14 girls club high jump record from Sadie Meade who had held it for her jump of 1.48m.


🥈 Silver Medal for Sean McNulty for the 1k race walk! Sean claimed the medal for his race of 5.42.9. Well done Sean!


Aidan Makembe also qualified for the 60m finals and had a fantastic race taking 4th place in a new PB of 8.15! 👏 Well done also to Aoife Roche who ran a super new PB of 8.74 in the girls 60m heats, a huge improvement on her Dublin Championship qualifying time. Emily Ryan had a great run in the 60mh with 10.05 as did Cara Gorman in the 800m (2.31.5)

Well done also to Emily Ryan for her high jump 👏 Harry Atkinson did a great throw with the 2.72kg shot to 9.67m taking 5th place.


Congratulations also to our U14 girls walkers Rachel McDevitt , Keeva Kildunne , Reese Peacock and Chloe Fennessy who ran (race-walked!) brilliantly.


U13

🥉 Bronze Medal for Chisom Nwaejim in the U13 boys 60m who took the medal in 8.33s.


Well done also to Jacob Shiels, Senan Kelly and Ciara Williams who had super performances in their 600m. Orji Favour did amazing to make a final in the 60mh and came 5th with a time of 10.18s. Our U13 shot putters Ciara Williams and Aishling O'Brien also had great performances with the 2kg Shot.



U12

🥉 Bronze Medal for Lauren O'Reilly in the time 600m where she ran 1.46.77 👏


Well done also to James Howlin on a great 600m race to take 6th place. Lauren O'Reilly made the final of the 60m and took 4th place with 8.75 (and ran 8.72 in her heat). Craig Makembe also claimed a brilliant 4th place in the boys 60m final with 8.70.
