MSB AC takes on the Castleknock 5k Run

Exciting News for the Castleknock 5km Run!

After 10 incredible years under the stewardship of its founding committee, the much-loved Castleknock 5K Run is entering a new chapter. From 2025, Metro St. Brigid's Athletics Club (MSB AC) will proudly take up the mantle as organisers of this iconic community event.

With a reputation for excellence in promoting athletics and community involvement, MSB AC is delighted to continue the Castleknock 5km tradition. We’re committed to ensuring it remains the same great event with the same community spirit and same fun-filled day out that participants have come to love.

Giving Back To The Community

The Castleknock 5km is more than a race; it’s a celebration of community, charity, and camaraderie. Over the last decade, it has grown from a small gathering of friends into a cherished annual occasion, raising an incredible €220,000 for local community groups and charities.

All profits from the 2025 event will be shared between the chosen charity and local community group; St. Francis Hospice will receive 30% and 70% to support MSB's delivery of community athletics for Dublin 15.

About St. Francis Hospice

St. Francis Hospice provides a specialist palliative care service to people in North Dublin and surrounding counties. Their holistic, person-centred care includes support for patients' families and friends and all healthcare professionals involved in their care. Services are provided free of charge.

Metro St. Brigid's Athletic Club (MSB AC) is a community-driven athletics club with deep local roots and a proud history. At the heart of MSB AC is a spirit of volunteerism and inclusion. Dedicated volunteer coaches create a welcoming and supportive environment where athletes of all ages and abilities can thrive. From age 8 to 80 and beyond.
