About the event
The annual Glen Cup is the start to the new MSB athletics season and usually takes place on the first Thursday in September in the Phoenix Park at 19:00. It was originally a 10k road race but was changed in 2015 to a 6k grass race around The Acres to coincide with the juvenile grass race.
The new Glen Cup is now a fast grass and light trail race incorporating the fast flats of the Acres with the undulating hills of Magazine Hills.
Both the Glen Cup and kids shorter race are handicap style races giving everyone a chance to win.
All adult entrants must ensure they contact the club captain to register for the race. The parents of any kids participating should contact their child’s coach to let them know they are racing so handicaps can be worked out in advance.
The Glen Cup is a great way for the club community to come together as summer ends to mark the beginning of the new season.
